Single Outdoor Site
Site overview Location: Kota, Rajasthan, India. Client: Bharti Hexacom Test Duration: From: November 2011 to ongoing as at May 2012 Pre installation site description:
This remote site on the outskirts of Kota, Rajasthan gets a few hours of Grid power on most days. This varies from 0 to 11hrs with a mean of 4.8hrs daily and SD of 3.2. Grid quality though generally good, was on some occasions low enough to be rejected by the PIU. This system gave average discharge times of 17hrs and charge times of 2hrs from 20% SOC to full charge. Temperatures on this site varied from 15 deg in January to 40 deg in mid April. Fuel figures were remotely and manually recorded for consumption and delivery. Overall the site was stable and all problems were resolved within the available backup time to keep the site at 100% uptime for the duration of the test. Emergency batteries are only used in cases of main system failure otherwise they are kept on float charge. The site was equipped with a full functional remote monitoring and control unit and all necessary test data was logged for the duration of the test. ![]() Figure 1: Single BTS Outdoor Site.
